Daisy Chain Day Care
Our greatest successes happen when we work hand in hand with parents
Settling in and first steps with Daisy Chain

We know that choosing a nursery is one of the first big steps in your child’s life, and we are here to guide and support you every step of the way.
At Daisy Chain Day Care, we are passionate about making every child’s start with us happy, smooth, and memorable.
From the very beginning, your child’s dedicated key person will work closely with you to ensure your journey starts on the most positive note.
We take the time to learn all about your child, from their daily routines and favourite activities to the little details that make them feel safe and happy, such as a special comforter or story.
Throughout their time at Daisy Chain Day Care, their key person will always consider their needs and interests, creating opportunities for them to learn, grow, and thrive through play.
Starting nursery can be an emotional experience, not just for children, but for parents too
We are here to offer you reassurance and peace of mind every step of the way
Special Educational Needs
Every child can learn, just not in the same way or on the same day
Whether a child needs help with communication, sensory processing, social interaction, or physical development, we aim to adapt our environment, resources, and routines to remove barriers to learning.
We are committed to working in partnership with outside specialists, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists.
By collaborating, we ensure that strategies are consistent, effective, and responsive to progress.

We celebrate every achievement, big or small.
From a first word to newfound confidence in a group, we take the time to recognise and share each success, helping children feel proud of themselves and motivated to keep going.
Families often tell us that our SEND provision is not just about support, it is about belonging.
Here, every child is welcomed, understood, and valued as part of our nursery family.

At Daisy Chain Day Care, we believe that every child is unique, capable, and full of potential.
Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) support is built on the belief that with the right encouragement, tailored strategies, and compassionate understanding, every child can thrive.
We work closely with families from the very start, listening carefully to your insights about your child’s needs and strengths.
Our highly trained SENCo team uses a combination of observation, assessment, and individualised planning to ensure that each child receives the support that suits them best.

Every child belongs, every child matters, and every child is celebrated for exactly who they are.
Famly
Keeping families informed with Famly

Your dedicated Key Person will interact with your child and record their activities. These will then be shared with you via the Famly app.
An update might include pictures or videos of them doing something fun, or notes keeping you up to date on daily activities.
These cover all the basics, from nap times and nappy changes, to what they ate for lunch.
As well as professional observations of your child's development.
Plus, you can post your own comments and observations anytime, anywhere! Making it quick and easy to communicate directly with your Key Person - swapping ideas, sharing exciting home activities, or responding to something the nursery might need to know.
After all, no one knows your child better than you.
While your child is at Nursery, they spend their time learning, exploring and experimenting whether they are trying new foods or taking their first steps, with Famly, you won't miss a single moment.

Let's go Potty !!!
Stay patient, celebrate small wins, and trust that every accident is a step toward success
Potty training works best when your child shows readiness signs, like staying dry for longer, following simple directions, and showing interest in the toilet, which often happens between 18 months and 3 years.
Start when life is relatively calm, and remember progress comes in small steps, accidents are part of learning, and your patience and encouragement are just as important as the potty itself.
We are available to offer support and guidance, the Potty Genius link has some helpful advice.

Speech and Language
Speak with them, listen to them, and celebrate every sound
Staff in both settings have had extensive training in supporting children’s speech, language and communication skills using assessment tools and resources from Early Talk Boost and Stoke Speaks Out. If you are concerned about your child’s speech, language or communication development please speak to your child’s key person. The website below also has a wealth of information.
Climate Action Plan

Nurturing young minds for a greener tomorrow
Helping children to appreciate nature, and explore it through visits, art and play.
Supporting the environment by learning how to grow and nurture plants in the nursery garden and discovering all about the food cycle by growing, harvesting and cooking food.
Helping children to learn about water conservation, energy efficiency and waste reduction through play-based activities and adult interactions
Encouraging children to become actively involved in the improvement of their local environment, such as by developing a recycling area and encouraging children to share a recycling ethos in the home environment.

We promote a holistic, open-ended curriculum which explores ideas and practices for environmental sustainability and helps children understand the interdependence between people and the environment, which includes.
